Deleting your data
Pennymate is made by Kollektiv Software Studio Inc. This page explains how to delete what Pennymate keeps about you, in the app or by email, and what stays afterwards.
On your phone: "Delete my data"
In Pennymate, open You and tap "Delete my data". It removes everything Pennymate keeps on that phone: your groups, your name, your payment handles, your cards and your settings. If the phone is signed in, it also signs out. Your account, if you have one, stays until you delete it.
Your account: "Delete account"
If you backed up your groups with an account, open You, then "Back up and sync", and tap "Delete account". It deletes your backup, every phone's sign-in and any sign-in codes. The groups on your phones stay on those phones and keep working. A marker that the account was deleted stays, without your email address, so a phone that comes back online learns it's gone.
Without the app
Open trypennymate.com/app in a browser and tap "Sign in to get your groups back". Sign in with your account's email address and the code we send to it. Then open You, then "Back up and sync", and tap "Delete account". Your groups come into that browser when you sign in, so tap "Delete my data" under You afterwards to clear them. For anything else, write to privacy@trypennymate.com.
What stays in shared groups
Groups are shared, so they keep existing for the other members. The expenses and payments you entered or took part in stay under your name, including in each group's history, because the other members' balances depend on them. The payment handles you shared with a group stay there too. All of it stays until the group is deleted. Any member can delete a whole group, and a group is deleted once its last member leaves.
